SKYHAWKS CONCLUDE BASKETBALL SEASON

The Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks wrapped up the 2018-19 season in NJCAA Region IV play. The men’s squad dropped a quarterfinal decision to Malcom X College with a final score of 74-77.  They were led by Jyaire Robinson’s 18 points, and notched the first 20 win season by second year head coach AJ Sharp.

The Skyhawk’s women’s team bowed out in the finals, finishing as the Region IV runner-up to Highland Community College by a score of 65-75.  In a hard fought battle, the Skyhawks trailed by only two points in the final quarter, but could not overcome the Cougars. Isabelle Kimpel led the Skyhawks with 17 points and 13 rebounds.  Sophomores Aubree Schmitt and Karlee Doege were named to the All-Tournament Team.
